Oakley Radar Pace Sunglasses

December 1, 2016

CereProc collaborated with the Intel New Devices Group and Oakley Sunglasses to create the unique Radar Pace Sunglasses. These high end shades came equiped with a coach for cycling or running. The glasses could monitor your progress and give advice to help you improve.

CereProc created a set of high energy conversational voices for the project in several European languages. The glasses had very positive reviews but they were expensive. Intel decided to close the New Devices Group in 2016. They had hoped wearables would be a large chip market for them but although wearables had become more popular they never competed with the smart phone.

The Radar Pace Sunglasses was a great example of how a bespoke conversational agent could produce a delightful user experience. The Intel’s NDG produced excellent technology with a fraction of the resources of companies such as Google and Amazon. We loved working with the team and were sad to see the end of a wonderful technology initative.
